"Clean pool, easy swim"
I figured the pool would be straightforward, and it was in the best way. The water felt nice, everything looked clean, and the lanes were easy to use. Got a good swim in and I’d definitely go back.

"Really Easy to Enjoy"
The instructors are, like, really friendly and patient, and they explain things in a super clear way. It just makes the classes feel easy to follow and, you know, actually enjoyable

"The kids absolutely love it"
My two kids have been doing a few activities at Places Leisure, they’ve been loving every second of it. The staff are really friendly and patient, even when the little ones are running around like tiny hurricanes.

The classes feel well organised but still relaxed and fun, which is a great balance. My youngest has grown so much in confidence each week, it’s been lovely to watch. Easy 5 stars from us.

"I ran into an issue and expected…"
I ran into an issue and expected it to take a while to get sorted. But I sent a message, and they got back to me really quickly. Before I knew it, they had figured out what was going on and fixed everything. It was such a smooth experience and definitely made me feel taken care of.

"I’ve taken my kids here a few times..."
I’ve taken my kids here a few times now, the lifeguards are one of the main reasons I feel okay relaxing a bit. Well, not fully relaxing, because kids at a pool are still kids at a pool, but you know what I mean. They’re always walking around, watching the deeper end, and they’ll step in if things start getting too rowdy. It doesn’t feel strict or awkward, just like someone is actually paying attention. The only thing is the changing area can get packed, especially at busy times, so that’s why I wouldn’t give it the full 5 stars.

Booking on placesleisure.org was mostly okay. The main issue was that a few pages didn’t work smoothly with my screen reader, and some of the text wasn’t very clear. Because of that, I had to spend extra time figuring things out. I did manage to complete the booking in the end, but it felt like it took longer than it needed to

"Pretty decent overall, with a small cancellation hiccup"
I used Places Leisure for a few months and overall it was fine. The billing was easy enough to understand, and the payments came out when I expected them to, which I appreciated. Cancelling wasn’t a nightmare or anything, but it did take a bit longer than I thought it would, and I had to go back and double-check one email to make sure everything was actually moving along. The staff did reply and got it sorted in the end. Weirdly, I remember the confirmation email landing while I was eating a packet of salt and vinegar crisps, so that stuck in my head. Not perfect, but decent overall.

"I couldn’t find parking at all..."
I couldn’t find parking at all, like I kept circling around thinking maybe a spot would open up, but nope, nothing anywhere. It was frustrating and kind of threw off the whole visit

"Heads up: this gym actually looks after its equipment"
Just a quick warning to anyone thinking of joining a Places Leisure gym: you might end up expecting other gyms to keep the same standard. I’ve been using my local one for a while now, and the equipment is kept in really good condition. If something is out of order, it usually gets fixed quickly, and there’s always plenty of other stuff available anyway. You can tell they’re checking things regularly, which makes workouts way less frustrating. Definitely nice to see a gym that actually stays on top of maintenance.

"Decent centre, but check the hours before you go"
The centre itself is fine, but I’d definitely recommend checking the opening hours before making plans. A few times I’ve expected it to be open later in the evening and it’s closed earlier than I hoped. The weekend hours also feel a bit limited, especially if you’re trying to fit it around work or family stuff. It’s not a bad place at all, just not the most convenient. It would really help the community if they stayed open later a few more days a week

"App works every time, annoyingly enough"
I’ve booked a bunch of classes through the app and it hasn’t crashed on me once. it’s kind of hard to complain, so I guess I’ll blame the app for making it too easy. Pleased with it

"Such a patient teacher"
The teacher was really patient with my son, i can see such a big improvement in him. It feels like we made the right choice, don’t you think?

"I tried booking a class on placesleisure.org i…"
I tried booking a class on Places Leisure i wish I hadn’t bothered. The pages were loading so slowly, and just as I was about to confirm, it logged me out. The time slots weren’t clear either, so I ended up clicking around forever just to find basic details. What should’ve been a quick two-minute booking turned into a complete hassle, and by the end I still wasn’t even sure if it had gone through. Definitely left me regretting the whole thing.

"Decent gym, but the changing rooms need more attention"
I go to my local Places Leisure a couple of times a week, and overall it’s been alright. The gym floor is usually tidy, and the bins aren’t overflowing, so that side of things is “fine” for me. The changing rooms are more hit and miss though. Some days the floors are wet, and there’s hair around the showers, which isn’t great. The toilets can be clean one visit and then not so nice the next. The staff are friendly enough when you mention it, but I do think they need to do checks more often. It’s not “awful,” but for the price, I’d expect it to be a bit cleaner

The changing rooms were great, clean, tidy, and not packed to the rafters like I half expected. It was nice to have a bit of space without feeling rushed. The showers worked fine too, which is always a win in my book

"I’ve been going to Places Leisure a..."
I’ve been going to Places Leisure a few times a week lately, mostly after work or when I can fit it in around everything else, and the cafe has been a nice little bonus. The coffee is decent, the staff have always been friendly, and it’s just nice to have somewhere to sit for a bit after swimming or using the gym instead of rushing straight back out to the car.

The vending machines are useful too, especially when I forget to bring a drink or need a quick snack, which happens more often than I’d like to admit. They’re usually well stocked with drinks and bits to grab, and the prices are pretty much what I’d expect for a leisure centre. Overall, it just makes the whole visit feel a bit easier and more comfortable.

"Busy, but not overwhelming"
It was definitely busy, like you could tell there was a lot going on and people were moving around constantly, but it never felt totally out of control. I was expecting it to be kind of stressful at first, but once I got settled in, it was manageable. A little hectic here and there, sure, but nothing that ruined the experience

"Easy to Get a Workout In"
I've been going a few times a week, it's been easy to get on the equipment. Even after work, I usually don't have to wait long for weights or cardio machines. They've got everything I need, and most of it is in good shape. It definitely makes sticking with the gym a lot less annoying.

"Not Impressed at All"
This could be a lot better. I expected a decent experience, but it feels like whoever was responsible just didn’t put in the effort. It’s frustrating because this should’ve been handled properly from the start...

"poor updates on closures"
they keep changing the hours or closing off areas, and i usually don’t find out until i’m already there. it would be a lot less frustrating if the updates were clearer and actually posted ahead of time
